David holds a Juris Doctor degree from Lewis and Clark School of Law as well as an LL.M. in Taxation (an attorney’s post-doctorate master’s degree) from the University of San Diego School of Law. He holds a license in good standing with the Supreme Court of the State of Oregon. David has never been disciplined by the Oregon Bar Association.
Prior to joining Fortress, David fought for taxpayers in collections with the IRS while working for a Low-Income Legal Tax Clinic located in downtown Portland, Oregon. After gaining tax resolution experience at the Clinic, David joined the Fortress Financial team in 2008, and has focused exclusively in resolving serious back tax liabilities ever since.
David has proven to be a very valuable asset to the Fortress team as he has time and time again combined his professionalism with his advanced tax-related education and front-line experience in tax negotiations to achieve great things for his clients–most notably, protection for his clients from enforcement action as well as securing extremely favorable results for the vast majority of his clients.
